I don't have any words.
I don't even know if this is working.
We have power but I don't know for how long.
I don't know if anyone's left to read this even if it does still work.
David won't talk. He's been like that since he had to
Since he had to
I can't even say it. I can't even say what he did, what I did.
We did what we had to to survive.
But that doesn't make it any better.
We're fucked.
We're ALL fucked.

Pete's dead
Pete's body was found in an alley two blocks away this morning.
I can't find any details of next of kin and I'm too tired to do anything else.
That sounds terrible I know, but the city's going to hell right now.
I'm sorry Pete.

Missing Person
My neighbor, Pete Bowen, has gone missing. I can't find a photo of him but he's about 5'11", caucasian with dark hair and glasses. He's English.
I don't know what else to say. I've filed the report.
Jeb's still missing too.

Jeb's gone missing
My neighbor Pete was supposed to feed Jeb today while I was working, but the door was open when I got back.
I can't find Pete, and Jeb's gone - if Pete doesn't turn up tomorrow I'm going to file a report on him.
In the meantime, here's Jeb:

If you see him somewhere in Brooklyn, please email me at tina.theisland@gmail.com - I'd really appreciate it.

Something's happening
There's some seriously weird shit going down round here these days.
I've been on the force a few years now and I never had to draw my gun until a couple of weeks ago. A guy jumped David and started clawing at him - David held him off but couldn't shift him.
This guy was strong, hopped up on something - and I had to shoot him. There was no other choice. David couldn't get him off him and this guy was just whaling on him, beating him over and over and trying to bite him.
I shot him through the head.
I went to counselling and under normal circumstances I would have been off the street for a while.
But whatever's going on out here, it's not normal. There's some kind of epidemic...
That cold that was going round I mentioned last month?
It's not a cold. The cold is just the first stage of some kind of infection. They're not telling us what kind yet, but there's rumors that it's got something to do with the level of violent attacks that have been on the upswing across the country.
I don't know what's going on, but I don't like it. Everyone's nervous, tense. A couple of guys we know went hunting upstate for the weekend and never came back. Annie's school is closed even though it should still be in session. I don't know what's going on.
But I've still got a job to do.
